The Rose for Building 2011
The Rose for Building (‘Rakentamisen Ruusu’) is an annual award granted by the City of Helsinki Building Control Department for high-quality work in connection with a built environment. With the aid of this award, the Board of Construction and the Building Control Department of the City of Helsinki wish to bring attention to locations that have been exemplary in furthering construction culture.
The Rose for Building has been presented since 1995. The search for buildings worthy of the award has almost naturally brought with it a theme that changes each year, when possible candidates are discussed or the final candidates are chosen. The candidates are selected from among commendable projects related to built environments that have been completed during the current year.
The exhibition built around the Rose for Building 2011 presents the 2011 winner and also the locations awarded a commendation. The exhibition also showcases the Rose for Building 2007–2011 publication, which presents all of the winners and commendations announced between 2007 and 2011.
